January 10, 2014 SIRS Extract of 2013 BEDS Day Enrollment Counts for State Aid Purposes and SAMS Revisions for Selected Projected Enrollments
2013 BEDS Day enrollment counts used for State Aid purposes will be extracted from the Student Information Repository System (SIRS) on Friday January 10, 2014 and sent to the State Aid Office soon thereafter. Some of these 2013 enrollment counts are used for current year 2013-14 apportionments (such as 2013-14 Full Day Kindergarten Conversion aid & 2013-14 Universal Pre-Kindergarten Aid) and some are used for estimating 2014-15 aid.
Please review the 2013 enrollment counts that have been submitted by your district via SIRS, and associated verification reports, then ensure that any necessary changes are made on or before January 10, 2014.
Charter School Enrollment
The January 10th SIRS extract will also include charter school
district of attendance (DOA) & district of residence
(DOR) counts. These aggregated charter school DOA & DOR
enrollment counts are based on data entered into SIRS by
charter schools, but reports aggregating the data to the
district level are available for review by districts. Please
review and update the 2013-14 SAMS Form A Schedule U charter
school projected 2013 enrollment data to reflect counts
that are as close to BEDS Day as possible. Review of the
2013 charter school SIRS enrollment counts will include
a comparison to your SAMS Schedule U projected enrollments,
and the Schedule U data may continue to be used for State
Aid purposes if the review is not complete in time for inclusion
in the February 15th frozen data file used to project 2014-15
aid when the budget is enacted. (SAMS revisions submitted
by January 15, 2014 are guaranteed to be included in the
February 15th frozen data file. Revisions submitted after
1/15 will be accepted if possible, but acceptance cannot
be guaranteed.)
Equivalent Attendance Enrollment
We are no longer requesting equivalent attendance enrollment
counts from the SIRS system. The 2013 BEDS Day equivalent
attendance count will come from the 2013-14 SAMS Form A
projected count. Next fall 2014, the 2014-15 SAMS Form
A will collect the actual 2013 equivalent attendance BEDS
enrollment count for the actual 2014-15 State Aid calculations.
Please review and update 2013-14 SAMS
Form A entry 83 projected 2013 Equivalent Attendance Enrollment
count so it reflects the count on BEDS day. (SAMS revisions submitted by January
15, 2014 are guaranteed to be included in the February 15th
frozen data file. Revisions submitted after 1/15 will be
