BOCES SAMS XML Information
We have completed requirements for the new BOCES Aid data collection, editing, aid calculation and reporting system. We will be collecting data in the new system during the 2009-10 school year, in addition to the DEA data collection.
XML Information
XML
(Extensible Markup Language) is a markup language much like HTML which defines a set of rules for
encoding documents electronically. It is defined in the XML 1.0 Specification produced by the
W3C
(World Wide Web Consortium).
XML’s design goals emphasize simplicity, generality, and usability over the Internet. XML allows text data to defined using your own descriptive tags. Unlike HTML, XML has no predefined tags.
An XML Schema
is a description of a type of XML document, typically expressed in terms of constraints on the
structure and content of documents of that type, above and beyond the basic syntactical constraints
imposed by XML itself.
