2003-04 Statewide Averages

State averages to be used in computing aids payable during the 2003-04 School Year

Certain sections of the Education Law require the Commissioner of Education to establish State averages for use in calculating State Aid payable to public school districts. Accordingly, the following State averages for aid payable in 2003-04 have been determined and are established.

Pursuant to paragraph i, subdivision 1, section 3602 of the Education Law, the State average full valuation per total wealth pupil unit for aid payable in the 2003-04 school year has been determined to be TWO HUNDRED EIGHTY-ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($281,000).

Pursuant to paragraph k, subdivision 1, section 3602 of the Education Law, the State average adjusted gross income per total wealth pupil unit for aid payable in the 2003-04 school year has been determined to be ONE HUNDRED TWENTY-EIGHT THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS ($128,600).

Pursuant to subparagraph (2) of paragraph a, subdivision 3, section 3602 of the Education Law, the State average full valuation per pupil in resident weighted average daily attendance for aid payable in the 2003-04 school year has been determined to be THREE HUNDRED THIRTY-SIX THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($336,500).

Pursuant to paragraph c, subdivision 19, section 3602 of the Education Law, the State average expense per pupil for aid payable in the 2003-04 school year has been determined to be SEVEN THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS ($7,650).

Pursuant to subparagraph (1), paragraph a, subdivision 31-a, section 3602 of the Education Law, the statewide sixty-fifth percentile percentage increase in total General Fund expenses for aid payable in the 2003-04 school year has been determined to be NINE AND FIVE HUNDREDTHS (9.05 PERCENT).

Pursuant to subparagraph (6), paragraph a, subdivision 31-a, section 3602 of the Education Law, the statewide average tax rate for aid payable in the 2003-04 school year has been determined to be EIGHTEEN AND FIFTY-FIVE HUNDREDTHS (18.55).

The State average full valuation per resident public and nonpublic enrollment for aid payable in the 2003-04 school year has been determined to be TWO HUNDRED NINETY THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS ($290,800).
