SAMS Contract Penalty Forgiveness
New subdivision 5 of ยง3625 of education law relates to transportation aid penalties due to late filed or late executed contracts, and the failure to advertise for contracts for transportation after July 1, 2012. The new law provides the Commissioner the authority to consider these expenses as valid and eligible for aid under certain conditions. We have reviewed our records, identified relevant penalties, and notified all impacted district superintendents via email on January 10, 2023 (example of the email sent). If your district did not receive an email notification, but believe you have a relevant impact, please contact by email.
